Ingredients

As I list them in the video description.

Filling

  • 250 grape leaves
  • 1 kg ground beef, or ½ kg beef and ½ kg pork
  • 550 g rice
  • 1 cup oil
  • 200 g butter
  • 1 tbsp allspice
  • 1 cup water, or as needed
  • 4 to 5 pork or lamb chops (optional)

For cooking

  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp citric acid (lemon salt)
  • 2 large heads of garlic, crushed
  • 3 tbsp mint
  • Enough water to cover the plate

How it's made, in short

  1. Blanch the grape leaves until they change color and let them drain.
  2. Soak the rice in warm salted water and mix it with the meat, allspice, butter, oil and a little water.
  3. Fill each leaf and roll it up, pressing gently.
  4. Line the pot with leaves and the chops, and arrange the rolls in circles.
  5. Add the mint, citric acid, salt, garlic and water; cover with a plate and a stone and cook on the lowest heat for 45 minutes to an hour.
